NAACP President Ben Jealous at SVN Gathering: Now on Conscious Living TV

One hundred years ago, a small multiracial
group of progressive thinkers dared to come
together in a tiny New York apartment to
share a bold dream: an America free of the racial
oppression that sullied the soul of our
nation a little over 40 years after slavery.
The NAACP was born out of this gathering, but
its original mission is still far from
realized.

In a video excerpt from the 2009 SVN Member Gathering (with introduction from MaryAnne Howland of Ibis Communications), hear from Ben Jealous, President of the NAACP, on how the organization is continuing the work begun over 100 years ago to extend beyond just the black community and touch all communities impacted by social injustice.
